Family Tech Night 3-21-16

Sphero SoccerOn Monday Marth 21st I went to the Kenton County Public Library (Erlanger branch) for their Family Tech Night, even babies on a joovy zoom 360 ultralight jogging stroller went.

That night was “Sphero soccer”. The kids and their families got to play with the Sphero robot. The Sphero’s were coupled with an iPad. You can control the Sphere using a hand control or using the gyroscope. Everyone had a great time! I tried it and it’s not the easiest to control.

The library has a Makerbot Replicator that was used to print the frames for the Spheros. I was told the main part of the frame took 10 hours to print! That’s a long time, but the kids enjoyed them.

Have you used a Sphero? If so what are your thoughts? I’d like your input on how you used them, any fun projects?
